The ERC spokesman has affirmed in the Spanish Congress that “being a “chungo” and being a bad person is fashionable”
While Donald Trump continues to unleash his colonizing eagerness, the president of the United States captures the spotlight also in Congress. ERC spokesman Gabriel Rufián referred to him on Thursday and called him a “fraudster, paedophile, rapist, mother f**ker who only travels to f*ck.”
Gabriel has spoken in these terms about the US president after claiming that “being a chungo and being a bad person is in fashion.” “Because it gives votes. This is how elections are won, and here in Madrid we have very clear examples. In Catalonia we will have them too. In fact, we already have them,” he said.
Rufián’s intervention, which has charged against the Spanish right, has not ended there: “And you know what is the worst? That everything ‘bully’ is surrounded by a crew of boot licker that applaud him as seals. In each country they are called in one way, here they are called PP and Vox.”

Lo peor es que está rodeado de lamebotas que le aplauden como focas. Aquí son PP y Vox" pic.twitter.com/fSTovrqkD2

During his speech, Rufián focused his criticism on what he considers the influence of Trump on the Spanish right and directly pointed to PP and Vox, whom he accused of behaving as “boot cleaners” of the US president. According to the Republican leader, both parties show an attitude of ideological submission to the policies and style of the American leader.
The ERC spokesman used a particularly forceful tone to denounce what, in his opinion, is a normalization of authoritarian and aggressive discourse in international politics. Rufián said Trump represents a leadership model based on intimidation and abuse of power, and warned of its impact on Western democracies.
