In recent years, Angelina Jolie, has primarily focused on her children, making glamorous red-carpet appearances increasingly rare. When she did appear in public, her looks were usually black or sand-colored. It is all the more surprising, then, that she made a fashion statement at the “Couture” premiere, attracting media attention with a partially see-through sequined dress by Givenchy.
Angelina Jolie celebrates haute couture
The Oscar-winning actress appeared at the Paris premiere of “Couture” on Monday, February 9, 2026, wearing a semi-transparent silver gown that allowed glimpses of skin to show through its embellishments. The elegant Givenchy outfit featured a pearl-encrusted hem and fringe on the sleeves and skirt. Jolie accessorized with a diamond ring and matching stud earrings. The 50-year-old added a touch of dark color with black pumps. Her hair was styled in large waves with plenty of volume, reminiscent of her earlier, slightly teased look.

That’s what “Couture” is about
Angelina Jolie plays Maxine Walker in the film “Couture,” a film director who is diagnosed with breast cancer while working for a major fashion house at Paris Fashion Week. The film also tells the story of a model and a makeup artist trying to make it in the industry.
“Too often, films about women’s struggles—especially with cancer—only talk about endings and sadness, rarely about life itself,” Jolie explained about the film in a “Time France” interview. She added that director Alice Winocour, 50, handled the sensitive subject matter “with such sensitivity.” “I love this film because it tells a story that goes far beyond the journey of a sick person: it shows life.”
Angelina Jolie remembers her mother
Jolie also recalled a moving moment with her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer in 2007: “One evening, when she was asked about her chemotherapy, she became very emotional and told me she would have preferred to talk about something else. She felt that the illness had become her only identity.” In 2013, Angelina Jolie herself underwent a preventative double mastectomy after being diagnosed with a high risk of breast cancer. Two years later, in she went a step further and had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as well.
