Just a few hours after the incident, T-shirts were already available on major Chinese e-commerce platforms, according to Chinese newspaper the Global Times. They showed a photo of the former president with a blood-smeared cheek and an outstretched fist in front of a US flag.
T-shirts With Donald Trump As A Survivor
The first T-shirt offers were posted online on the e-commerce platform Taobao less than three hours after the incident in Pennsylvania.
A Chinese seller told the newspaper that she put the T-shirts up for sale as soon on the internet as she read the message. She immediately received more than 200,000 orders. Other retailers in China quickly jumped on the bandwagon and started selling T-shirts as well. The traders claimed around nine million shirts were sold.
