In Miami, United States Secret Service officers detained an official of the court and Judge Jay Garcia-Gregory of the territory Puerto Rico for handling a fraud bribe. The judge tried to bribe another judge who reported him to the court in Miami and he could be held accountable, per that said, he would not hold his subordinate accountable. This was reported to the press service of Miami-Dade who later reported it to BBC News and Los Angeles Times forwarding to the Economist for report where the special prosecutor’s office arranged him on Saturday October 26 early morning.
Law enforcement officers arrested the 80-year old judge and released him on a $5,000 thousand bail with house arrest terms sending back to Puerto Rico to be tried there where the report of the surged. The case states he was benefiting illegally from bribes of different attorney firms and a marketing agency where he later passed forward.
According to the investigation, the Garcia-Gregory tried to “bribe” the person authorized to conduct the inspection for two thousand dollars, so that he, in turn, would not bring to responsibility his subordinate, who was in a state of intoxication at the workplace.
The United States Service Service detained before he was boarding a plane back to Puerto Rico. Now he is under preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail which was granted. Law enforcement officers also are investigating the involvement of other judges and individuals in the crime.
It is reported by the Economist that the sanction of the article provides from four to eight years of imprisonment.
The judge received more than $450,000 thousand in bribes to bribe forward other officials according to the United States Secret Service. We will remind you that during the searches at the head of the FBI office in Puerto Rico they found 350,000 in cash that were tied to the judge in bribery collection. An investigation is open on the head of the local FBI whose name is Joe Gonzalez and was placed in leave of absence while the current investigation remains by the Secret Service informed Los Angeles Times.
