Navarro pleaded guilty to four counts of theft from different shops which took place between January and March this year.
The court heard that he would fill carrier bags full of stock and leave the store without paying. On one occasion he entered Waterstones and filled carrier bag with a £100 worth of board games and then left.
In another incident he went into Worlds Apart and filled carrier bags full of stock which included a Power Ranger figure and two wrestling figures worth £65. He was confronted by staff who managed to recover some stock.
Under a Criminal Behaviour Order, Navarro is now banned from entering all Sainsbury’s, Tesco and B&M stores in Liverpool until 14 May 2028.
Inspector Jack Woodward the force lead for Retail Crime said: “Navarro would brazenly fill large carrier bags with stock and walk out of the shop without paying for.
“Theft from shops is not a victimless crime and has a huge impact on not only the business but the community as well in many ways, especially small shops trying to make an honest living.
The court declared this man has mental health problems due to shoplifting compulsions.
“We hope this serves as a clear warning to others, that the force will robustly take steps to address prolific offenders, working with businesses and partners.”
