A man was killed and two others were injured in a pair of shootings that occurred mere hours apart Monday night and early Tuesday morning in Frankford, police said.
Orlando Diaz, 20, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head just before 10 p.m. Monday on the 1600 block of Brill Street, after officers responded to a report of a person with a gun, authorities said.
Orlando was sitting in the driver’s seat of a silver Honda Accord, according to investigators. He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said no motive has been established for the murder, and no arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of the incident.
Just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, two 19-year-old men showed up at Jefferson Frankford Hospital after being shot less than a mile away from the Brill Street homicide, the PPD said.
Investigators believe that the pair were inside a parked car talking with two men outside at Tackawanna and Fillmore streets. A third person approached and knocked on the driver’s side window before opening fire, detectives said.
The pair were able to drive themselves to the hospital, law enforcement officials added. One of the victims was shot in his right shoulder and both arms, while the other sustained a wound to his right knee, police said. Both were listed in stable condition. No arrests have been reported.
Bridesburg storage facility robbery, shooting leaves employee in critical condition

The shooting occurred Monday night on the 5400 block of Eadom Street, police say.
Authorities say an employee of a Bridesburg storage facility was seriously injured when he was shot during a robbery Monday night.
The violent incident happened at around 7 p.m. inside Good Deal Self Storage, on the 5400 block of Eadom Street, near the I-95 overpass, according to police.
Investigators believe a male suspect entered the building, pulled out a gun and announced a robbery. Even though the employee complied, opened the register and handed over cash, the robber opened fire, the PPD stated.
Law enforcement officials said the 57-year-old worker was struck multiple times in his upper body. He was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in critical condition, police added.
Detectives said the shooter hopped on a minibike and fled south on Eadom Street. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the PPD’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
