When it comes to love, no distance is too far for Taylor Swift – and no ton of CO2 emissions is too much. In 2022, the US singer was already denounced for exhibiting the most environmentally harmful behavior among celebrities. In contrast to her colleagues, she had traveled the most miles in a private jet and thus left the largest carbon footprint. There is no improvement this year. The reason for this should be their relationship.

Taylor Swift has been appearing alongside football star Travis Kelce for a few months now. The 34-year-old has been commuting back and forth between New York and Kansas City for him in the past few months. Additionally, she hopped on a plane to travel to Kansas City between her tour stops in South America. This is reported by several media outlets and refers to the Instagram channel “Taylor Swift’s Jets”, which follows the routes of the private jet.

Through more than twelve flights in the past three months, it has emitted 138 tons of CO2 emissions. To make up for this environmental damage, Taylor Swift would have to plant 2,282 trees and let them grow for 10 years. 12,622 gallons (the equivalent of 47,779 liters) of kerosene were used for the trips, which corresponds to a value of 70,779 US dollars – 64,230 euros.

When Taylor Swift was denounced as the number one environmental offender last year, a spokesman defended herself. Accordingly, other people would also use the private jet. However, the route between Kansas City and New York and several other routes since September could almost certainly be attributed to Taylor Swift.

It’s quite possible that Taylor Swift can secure the negative title again this year. In 2022 it caused a total of 8,293.54 tons of emissions. That’s 1,184.8 times more than the average person’s annual emissions. The flights on her private jet averaged 80 minutes and around 224 kilometers. The shortest flight was 36 minutes, from Missouri to Nashville.
