t’s time for the spring and summer trends of 2024. With the heat coming in with increasingly milder temperatures, it’s safe to say that we’re in for a range of suggestions that are a bit of a departure from what we’ve seen in other seasons.
With that in mind, we’re rounding up the hottest trends we’ve spotted for when the next temperatures start to rise. From the most popular fit to the color that will color your entire wardrobe, these are the keys to spring-summer 2024.
Pads
Sculpted shoulder pads, which outline an often triangular figure, very characteristic of the 80s, in contrast to lifted shoulders with a very slim waist. It is the principle that we find, for example, in Max Mara or in Prada’s tailoring store, which suggests long-sleeved jackets under high-waisted shorts and a belt.
In the opposite direction, the trend is for blazers with XL shoulders and equally oversized patterns, combined with pleated skirts, as at Lapointe, shorts, as at Jil Sander or without anything underneath.
Cropped Pants (Pirate’s)
We expected it last spring, and in 2024 we confirm it again: the very short pirate pants, with the recognizable cut just above the knee, are back.
Polo
Mini Skirts and Shorts, The More Micros the Better
If anything is clear next season, it is that we will have to show a lot of leg. The no-pants phenomenon of last fall is consolidated in spring summer 2024 through knitted underwear in a total look.
Socks
The accessory that will be the most popular in the coming months will probably be the humblest in your closet. Socks are no longer just a garment to protect your feet and become an object of desire. Beyond the usual white sock with loafers, spring summer 2024 trends show a fairly high sock that goes with all kinds of shoes.
Blue Color
Despite the dark spring-summer 2024 that awaits us, the trends also allow some color licenses that put blue in the foreground. In Copenhagen we already saw that it was one of the popular shades and the rest of the fashion capitals only confirmed it: baby blue, in particular, will be one of those that will sweep in the coming months, in every possible outfit. In some brands this tone shifts towards greener shades, as is the case at Fendi or Jason Wu.
XXL Jewelry
When it comes to jewellery, the trend points in the opposite direction towards silent luxury. They take round pieces, in any accessory we can think of. Schiaparelli or Saint Laurent suggest big earrings, with a certain touch of the eighties, which are combined with a low neckline to emphasize them. Carolina Herrera opts for slightly more subtle designs to match the outfit that accompanies the accessory, while Blumarine stays true to the dosmilero spirit with almost choker necklaces that are extra large and wide.
