At the annual Métiers d’Art show, the French fashion house excels with black eyeliner, metallic eye shadow and cherry red lips. In short: the shows offer the best beauty inspiration for the holidays.
Festive beauty looks from Chanel Métiers d’Art
With its Métiers d’Art collections, Chanel celebrates the craftsmanship of the fashion house. The designs are made by Chanel’s ready-to-wear ateliers and Le19M. This is the Chanel institute in which French craft houses Lesage, Montex, Lemarie, Goosens and Massaro collaborate on the Métiers d’Art collections. The most recent collection was an ode to Manchester and the typical styles characteristic of the British city.
Chanel Métiers d’Art collections are a celebration of craftsmanship, and with a celebration comes festive beauty looks. Below, the most beautiful party-proof beauty inspiration from the Chanel runway.
Silver
There’s nothing like glitter and shimmer during the holidays. Metallic eye makeup is ideal for a successful party look, as Dutch model Marjan Jonkman shows here on the catwalk of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2020 show.
Smokey glitter
Can’t choose between a classic smokey eye and glitter? Then go for a combination – a festive look that dominated Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2016 show.
Cat eye with a twist
You can’t go wrong with a cat-eye during the festive season. Shake things up by continuing the black eyeliner to outline the entire eye. Stay in the style of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2022 show and incorporate a black bow – an iconic accessory of the fashion house – into your hair, like Penélope Cruz and Margot Robbie .
Shiny red lip
Nothing beats a classic red Chanel lip. During the Métiers d’Art 2020 show, the fashion house went for a glossy version. Keep the rest of your beauty look simple to emphasize your festively painted mouth.
Touch of gold
For the presentation of the Métiers d’Art 2023 collection, Chanel left for the Senegalese capital Dakar. Excellent craftsmanship from two different cultures came together in a collection full of colorful prints, lots of glitter and flowing silhouettes. These were complemented with subtle – but equally shimmering – make-up looks, such as this gold eye shadow.
Graphic eyeliner
Those looking to get creative with eyeliners this holiday season can find inspiration at the fashion house’s Métiers d’Art 2019 show, which took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A white outline is guaranteed to create a statement look at any party.
Black and white
Chanel often stays in the black and white spheres, but proves again and again that the possibilities are endless. This was also the case during the Métiers d’Art 2017 show, where models – including Lily-Rose Depp – combined a smokey eye with white eyeliner.
Glamor grunge
Want to give your party look a rock ‘n’ roll twist, without sacrificing glamour? Then get yourself a polished smokey eye – like Chanel Métiers d’Art 2021 – with an oval shape and a mother-of-pearl shine. The addition of lip gloss completes the glamorous grunge look.
Wetlook and rhinestones
For those who prefer not to mess around with eyeliner and eyeshadow palettes, there’s this look from Gigi Hadid at Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2020 show. Place two rhinestones in the corners of the eyes and the necessary dose of festivity is achieved. Combine with a wet look for a bolder beauty look.
