Reese Witherspoon Launches ‘Reese’s Bark Club,’ Inspired by Nieces’ New Family Dog (Exclusive)

The new project will feature plenty of canine content, plus giveaways from Blue Buffalo. Pet lovers are getting some new content, courtesy of Reese’s Bark Club.

Reese Witherspoon announced that Hello Sunshine is partnering up with Blue Buffalo to launch Reese’ Bark Club, which will release new social content focusing on pets in Reese’s Book Club community starting on Wednesday.

“Is there anything better than curling up with a good book?,” Witherspoon asks in a new video with the launch to which her nieces reply, “Curling up with a good book and a puppy.”

The Morning Show star, 47, said the initiative was inspired by her nieces Abby James and Draper Witherspoon and their new family dog, a Papillon puppy, named Bauer.

“To celebrate Bauer, the newest addition to the Witherspoon pack, we have decided to launch Reese’s Bark Club in partnership with Bauer’s favorite food – Blue Buffalo,” said Jennifer Weiner, SVP of Solar at Hello Sunshine.

“Like so many members of our community, we love reading with our furry friends,” she added. “Reese’s Bark Club will feature plenty of fun and inspiring dog content, special Blue Buffalo giveaways, and chances for members of our community to show up on our social media channels.”

Pet lovers will also get to enjoy inspirational videos from Reese’s Book Club authors and their furry companions as well as book recommendations for pet parents, interactive quizzes and other user-generated content from community members and their pets.

Hello Sunshine noted that pets are a big hit among their Reese’s Book Club community members. The company found in a recent survey that 70 percent of Reese’s Book Club fans read with a pet.

The fact that Bauer’s favorite food is Blue Buffalo’s Baby Blue Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe, along with the findings, prompted Blue Buffalo to join in on the initiative.

“When we learned more than 70 percent of Reese’s Book Club members love to read with their pets by their side, this partnership felt like such a natural way to elevate and celebrate the bond between pet parents and their furry family members,” said Katie Wong, director of brand experience at Blue Buffalo.

“To kick this off, you guys should comment down below what book you’re reading and your reading buddy’s name,” Abby James says in the video as Draper offers the pup a treat.

“Stay tuned for more fun reading content and lots of stuff with Bauer, our new family member. We love you so much already,” Witherspoon added.
