The Bulls traded Will Perdue to the San Antonio Spurs for Dennis Rodman. Both parties benefitted immensely from the trade. Hence, when he revealed what he thought of the Bulls and the league, it wasn’t a surprise.
Back in 1996, the Bulls no. 91 candidly spoke on what he actually thought about his team. Rodman credited the Bulls’ successes to the leagues’ inability, rather than the genius and the consistency of the Chicago side.
Dennis Rodman on the NBA
The Rebound King was frequently on the news, but mostly on entertainment pages as his off-court life has often done the pages. But his on-court contributions are unforgettable as he was an integral part of both the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls.
Back in 1996, the five-time NBA Champion decided to give his few cents on what he thought about the league. Dennis Rodman wasn’t that impressed with his team as he believed the rest of the NBA wasn’t on the same level.
“There are some teams out there who have no hope of beating the Chicago Bulls, and that’s sad, that’s really sad,” said Rodman. He further added, “We’re not the best team in NBA history, we’re just the best of what’s out there right now.”
In his three seasons with the Bulls, Rodman was a three-time NBA champion. Happy birthday, Dennis!

The five-time NBA Champion’s words came off his first win with the Bulls side. Rodman would go on to win two more with the franchise. The Chicago Bulls went on a rampage with no one to challenge them. But teams like the Los Angeles Lakers also dominated throughout the 80s, and are regarded as one of the best teams to ever exist.
The Chicago Bulls’ legacy was more than just a team, as they kept trading players over the decade and yet managed to win six rings. Rodman’s thoughts about the team would have surely changed over the years, as the interview was in his first year at the Bulls. Although Michael Jordan was the star of the team, ‘His Airness’ and the squad understood Rodman’s importance.
