The open-plan offices are filling up with style. That their best students are wearing the best collections, that they are passing their big editorial presentation, thanks to ten pieces that are doubly chic.
We always say “model student,” without ever dwelling on the word “model.” Yet there are several ways to be one: on the honor roll, or on the podium. At the beginning of the school year, when classes resume, some refuse to choose. In the subjects that matter, cashmere and mathematics , these students aim for perfection and consider their attire a discipline in its own right, as serious as any other, with its own exercises, its own grades, its own mistakes. Their school diary is strikingly similar to a trend book, and no one in the schoolyard has managed to find a flaw in it.
The good grades of the back-to-school locker room
The look begins with a sky-blue Balenciaga shirt, a must-have in the September wardrobe, but whose short, impeccably folded sleeves seem to have received a secret dress code. Beside it, Ami Paris‘s gray wool gabardine peplum pleated skirt strikes a pose without ever feeling strained. Celine shortens a buttoned black silhouette to the point of making it look like a 2D or cartoon schoolgirl outfit, while Prada pulls navy blue socks up to the knees, like a school uniform where a few embroidered flowers disrupt the discipline.
Since the dress code sometimes requires a white collar, the model student chooses hers from Hodakova, as it’s detachable and cut to a pillow size. Miu Miu, ever (well) mannered, ties her navy blue mini-dress for a gold star. For gym class, this exemplary fashionista dons her white Givenchy polo shirt , then recites her lesson in the afternoon in a navy V-neck Loro Piana, in baby cashmere. Molli whitens the collar even more, before Polo Ralph Lauren finishes the demonstration in pleated corduroy trousers. A flawless outfit, but not without character: here, wisdom has found some very good ways to disobey.
