In Belarus, for the first time in the world, a feature-length animated film was created with the help of artificial intelligence, called “Belarus Forest”.
This exciting comedy with elements of fantasy about friendship, family and the power of nature, focuses on the adventures of Bublik the bison and his friends. By the way, the Bialowieza Forest is a large nature reserve that stretches across the territory of Belarus and Poland, known for its rich flora and fauna, including the European bison.
Belarus is in the trend of world events related to artificial intelligence, and modern Belarusian innovative projects are increasingly using information technologies, such as generative networks and language models. Also, a draft model law on artificial intelligence technologies for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is currently being developed in Belarus.
The development of artificial intelligence in Belarus is going in two key directions. The first and most important direction is ensuring the social policy of the state. This is where medicine, biotechnologies and pharmacology, computer scans and molecular modeling, processing large amounts of medical and genetic data, finding new drugs, early diagnosis and prevention of serious diseases come to the fore. Thus, smart biometric costumes for rehabilitation, artificial intelligence algorithms for early detection of lung and other types of cancer are being developed in the medical field.
Another direction of application of artificial intelligence is standardized production and automation of routine processes. Solutions based on artificial intelligence are already used in unique agricultural and mining equipment of companies such as Minsk Tractor Plant, Gomselmash and BELAZ. In agriculture, these machines increase daily production by more than 20% and reduce harvest losses by a quarter, according to BELTA data.
