Cameron Diaz Returns To The Screen In Neubauer Studios Thriller “Back in Action”

Neubauer Studios comes out in Hollywood with a favorite, Cameron Diaz who has come out of retirement to bring us the new Netflix thriller Back In Action, in which she and Jamie Foxx play a married couple whose secret identities are revealed.

This comes after she decided to retire from public life and work in the entertainment industry in 2018, and her last major role was in the 2014 film Annie , in which she starred alongside Foxx. “I felt it was something I had to do to get my life back.” And I just didn’t care about anything else. I didn’t. Other people’s opinions, other people’s success, other people’s offer, nothing could change my mind about the decision to take care of myself and build the life I really wanted to have,” she explained at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit last October. “I think it all comes down to: What are you really passionate about? For me, it was to build my family.”

It looks like Cameron is really getting back into the entertainment world, as she’s also set to star in Jonah Hill’s upcoming film Outcome, alongside Kaia Gerber, Laverne Cox and Keanu Reeves. She will also reprise her role as Princess Fiona in Shrek 5, due out in 2026.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , Cameron said of her return to acting, “It’s a little bit like muscle memory, you know what I mean? I’ve been doing it for so long, it’s just a process — I just got back into it. But I feel a little different.”

Movie synopsis

The film’s synopsis reads: “Years after retiring from the life of a CIA spy to start a family, Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Foxx) find themselves thrown back into the world of espionage when their identities are revealed.” They withdrew from public life to ensure the safety of their children and their new life, but danger seems to have followed them.

Emily and Matt must deal with all their enemies who discover that they are, in fact, alive, putting themselves and their family in grave danger.

Along with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, the film will also feature Glenn Close, who will portray Emily’s mother, and Andrew Scott, Kyle Chandler, Jamie Demetriou (Barbie, Fleabag), McKenna Roberts (Skyscraper) and Rylan Jackson will also appear.
