The Princess of Wales burst into a tea party where young people with complicated life circumstances and their mentors were chatting.
Before the ‘Together at Christmas Carol’ service, led by Kate Middleton and which will be broadcast in the United Kingdom this afternoon on ITV , the network has released a preview with a small but effective video starring the Duchess of Wales.
In the images you can see the guests at a tea party made up of football coach Russell Gray, a teenage footballer trained by him and whose name is Rico, several other young people and several adults.
All the minors at that tea party had lived through difficult life and family experiences. The adults who appear next to them are mentors who have helped them get ahead. Kate knew all this and that’s why she decided to do something relevant.
What none of them could imagine at that moment in which they were gathered is that the door was going to open and Kate Middleton herself was going to appear through it. That’s how it went.
The video shows how Prince William’s wife enters the room where everyone is, dressed in a red Miu Miu cardigan valued at 1,550 euros and matching red pants . “I’m sorry to disturb the party, I hope you don’t mind!” she says humorously to everyone’s wide eyes.
Photos released by Kensington Palace of this moment show Brenda Ford, a retired mental health nurse from Sussex present at that meeting and who volunteers at a local school, holding the princess’s hand as the two enjoy a lively chat.
The princess also met brothers George and Henry Barnard, aged 12 and 10 respectively, who benefited from music therapy at East Anglia Children’s Hospice, where Kate is patron. The royal spoke with the two for fifteen minutes about their love of music, sharing with them that Prince George likes the guitar, Princess Charlotte loves to sing, and Prince Louis is a fan of the drums.
Kate then gave the children “beautifully wrapped presents,” which they are saving to be opened on Christmas Day.
This year, the ITV special focuses on the vital importance of early childhood and thanking those who support the youngest members of our society during those crucial early years, as part of the Shaping Us campaign led by the Princess of Welsh.
