Here comes the bride – and her wedding scent!
Lady Diana wore a perfume from a traditional French house
At the wedding in July 1981, Princess Diana was on a a silk taffeta dream by British bridal designer David Emmanuel. The dress has long since achieved cult status. And we think: your wedding perfume deserves it too.
Lady Diana sprayed herself with the complex “Quelques Fleurs” from the French fragrance house Houbigant Paris. It smells fresh of bergamot and lemon, floral of rose, violet and jasmine and slightly earthy and woody of moss, musk and cedar wood. A floral, cheerful scent with depth. The former Princess of Wales couldn’t have chosen her wedding perfume more appropriately. Incidentally, the scent was different from her favorite perfume in everyday life, but included similar notes, such as her favorite aroma, jasmine.
The fragrance is still on sale and costs around 160 euros for 100 ml.

Top notes : galbanum, bergamot, tarragon and lemon.
Middle notes : carnation, orange blossom, rose, tuberose, broom, violet, ylang-ylang, beeswax, clove, jasmine and lily of the valley.
Base notes : oakmoss, musk, iris, tonka bean, cedarwood, civet and sandalwood
Princess Kate chose a floral, fresh fragrance creation
In 2011 the time had finally come: the long-awaited wedding between Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, who also received a royal title that day. And the world fell in love with Kate – and her wedding look! From the dress to her hair to the wedding manicure – all (British) brides wanted to look like her. And smell like that!
The palace later confirmed that she had launched the unisex fragrance “White Gardenia Petals” from British perfume manufacturer Illuminum. The scent is not as sweet and floral-sweet as Lady Diana’s, but rather more sporty, which totally suits sports fan Kate. But there is still a small connection between these very different scents: jasmine, Lady Diana’s favorite note, also plays a role in Kate’s scent. What a lovely gesture to remember her late mother-in-law on her big day.
The fragrance is still available at a price of around 130 euros for 100 ml.

Meghan Markle surprised with her own perfume creation
What sounds very diva-like at first is actually a really nice idea: Meghan Markle grabbed her then fiancé, Prince Harry , and together they created a fragrance tailored to her – unique, like their love for each other – that Meghan should wear to the wedding. For this project, she of course went to the purveyor to the court and favorite perfumer of the late Queen Elizabeth II , the traditional British house Floris London.
Floris London has been working with the royal family since 1820. At important royal events such as weddings or birthdays, exclusive fragrances are designed specifically for the royals and are not sold. Meghan Markle’s perfume will not be released either. But you can at least get close to your favorite. The store’s manager, Amalia Robles, confirmed that the woody-fresh composition “Bergamotto di Positano” was used as the basis for Meghan’s individual creation.
So you can’t buy the original scent, but you can at least buy the twin scent “Bergamotto the Positano”. Here 100 ml costs around 195 euros.
