For the first time, Medicine presents reproductions of paintings by Frida Kahlo, one of the most important artists of the 20th century, which are reflected in clothing, accessories and home textiles. Her art becomes tangible, close and functional. The collection draws on the intensity, emotionality and rich symbolism of her works, and her characteristic style finds its way not only into our wardrobes, but also into our homes.

Strong emotions and symbolism

In Frida Kahlo’s work you will find personal confessions, emotions and symbolism. Pain is intertwined with colors. Frida Kahlo stood outside the mainstream of her time and courageously set herself apart from the expectations placed on women by society. Her works combined realism, Mexican folklore and surrealist elements. Almost half of her work consists of self-portraits, which she understood as a form of personal diary. Modern journaling. Her paintings were not always “pretty”, but they revealed the true reality of women of her time all the more honestly.

Art as part of everyday life

With the first days of spring, the Frida collection will be appreciated by women and men who value creativity, courage and unconventional fashion. The collection is full of painterly prints and rich textures – from flowing dresses and blouses to modern, artistic silhouettes. The denim skirt and classic striped shirt with a print on the back are striking. Lovers of a more minimalist style will be interested in a crop T-shirt in black with a print on the chest, or accessories. Handbags, scarves and jewelry will add energy and a subtle, yet distinctive accent to every outfit. Intense contrasts, floral compositions and natural motifs typical of Frida Kahlo’s work are thus imprinted in our spring wardrobes. Homebodies can bring Frida’s world into their homes through decorative elements and home textiles.
