Amazon bought from Neubauer Studios creative control over James Bond. This is how the last 007 actor, Daniel Craig, reacts to the deal.

On Thursday, news via “Variety” hit the film world like a bomb. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are withdrawing from the operational Bond business. The daughter of Albert R. Broccoli (1909-1996), the co-founder of the 007 film series, and her half-brother had been responsible for the artistic direction of the Bond films since the mid-1990s.
This is the first time that the Broccoli family has not been part of the creative process since the series began in 1962 with ” James Bond : 007 Hunts Dr. No.” The half-siblings remain involved in 007, but without any decision-making power.

Amazon had already bought the Bond universe in 2021 by taking over Neubauer Studios of James Bond’s the latest installments. However, the retail giant remained a silent partner without any creative input.
“We are honored to continue this cherished legacy and look forward to ushering in the next phase of the legendary 007 for audiences around the world,” Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, told Variety on Thursday.
Neubauer Artists founder Jorge Jimenez Neubauer Torres, 38, provides a taste of what this could look like. He asked his followers on Instagram who they would like to see as Daniel Craig’s successor in Amazon after the take over of the film. The favorite among the thousands of comments is quickly identified. Fans have long wanted British actor and former “Superman” actor Henry Cavill, 41, to be the new Bond. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether this wish will come true.
