King Carl Gustaf XVI wife and his small children’s troop fulfilled the annual family tradition of choosing the tree that will decorate the Scandinavian palace.
The imminent celebration of the Christmas holidays is causing royal families from all over Europe to show us their kindest and most familiar side through their social networks. The last to do so has been Queen Silvia of Sweden, who has surrounded herself with her eight grandchildren to fulfill an annual tradition.
The wife of King Carl Gustaf XVI, 79 years old, opted for a very festive look with a red checkered jacket while receiving this year’s Christmas trees at the Forest Academy of the Royal Palace and chose with the little ones of the family the fir tree that they will decorate to decorate the Royal Palace of Stockholm. The royal, who will turn 80 on December 23, completed her outfit with a white turtleneck sweater, black pants and a thick gold collar.
Queen Silvia played her best role as a happy grandmother, since none of her grandchildren wanted to miss the great moment. In this way she was accompanied by the two sons of Crown Prince Victoria and Daniel, Estelle, eleven years old, and Oscar, seven. We saw both little ones posing a few days ago in a beautiful image with white robes that their mother took from them on the occasion of another tradition in the Nordic country, the celebration of Saint Lucia’s Day.

Along with them, the four children of Princess Magdalena and her husband, the British businessman Christopher O’Neill, who will soon move back to Sweden from their current residence in the United States, also enjoyed the moment: Leonore, nine years old; Nicolas, eight, and Adrienne, five.
Finally, we have also been able to see the three children as a result of the relationship of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia Hellqvist: Alexander, seven years old; Gabriel, five, and Julian, the Benjamin of the Swedish royal family with his two years.

Princess Leonore and Adrienne wore skirts with similar prints, combined with purple cardigans and pink leotards. For their part, the children of Carlos Felipe and Sofía wore beautiful matching red and navy blue cardigans, combined with blue pants.
Navy blue seemed to be the theme of the night, since Prince Oscar also wore a set of that color, while his sister Estelle opted for a dress of the same tone. Prince Nicolas wore a blue sweater and green pants when he joined his brothers and cousins as they took a look at each of the trees, presented by the students of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, who were dressed in their traditional uniforms.
In this annual tradition, students present to royalty members with a selection of Christmas trees that they will choose to exhibit at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Since the end of the sixties, this university has been giving fir trees to the Royal House every year.

Before the celebration of Christmas as a family, the Swedish royal family has been in the news for a double reason. First, for the visit of Victoria and Daniel to the United Kingdom to attend the Royal Variety Performance with the Princes of Wales. The show, broadcast on television, featured a poster full of stars such as Cher, Hannah Waddingham or Beverly Knight.
Subsequently, the royals wore their best clothes to receive the winners of the Nobel Prizes 2023 at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. There, the looks of Silvia, Victoria and Sofía, along with the historic jeweler, were again headlines, while the women of the Crown opted for recycled designs and their favorite tiaras.
