Lana Del Rey Cover ‘Blue Skies’ For ‘The New Look’

Del Rey has joined Florence and the Machine and Matty Healy on the list of artists appearing on the soundtrack for the Apple TV series “The New Look”. Produced by Jack Antonoff, this soundtrack features contemporary interpretations of songs that reflect the times in which the series is set.

For her contribution, Del Rey performed her rendition of Irving Berlin’s 1926 song “Blue Skies.” The song was originally part of a Rodgers and Hart musical, but became an independent hit after the recorded version was released. Over the decades, the song has been performed by famous artists such as Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Nelson.

Del Rey added her own unique touch to her rendition of “Blue Skies,” accompanied by bass and the sound of trumpets and trombones.

The singer and Antonoff are longtime friends and collaborators. Antonoff, a recent Grammy winner for Non-Classical Producer of the Year, produced Lana’s latest album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. He’s also working with the singer on her upcoming country album, Lasso.
