If we talk about their favorite things to do when they come to Spain, the actors’ fans go completely crazy. This time it was Julianne Moore who had a great moment.
Lately, the actress has been closely associated with our country, and since she starred in ‘La cuarto de al lado’, the new film by Pedro Almodóvar, alongside Tilda Swinton, she has been visiting Spain a little more, or at least, the capital. So much so that she has started to learn our language in a very particular way that quickly went viral.
In some appearances on the red carpet, we have discovered that Julianne Moore drops a few words of Spanish alongside Pedro Almodóvar. The best thing of all is that in addition to learning the language, she does so in a very organic way, totally accessible to anyone trying to learn languages: with Duolingo. Thanks to this, she commented that she had already learned important phrases such as “I drink milk” or “two apples, please.”
Julianne Moore’s curious passion for El Corte Inglés
During her recent promotion on American television shows to present her latest film directed by Pedro Almodóvar, the Hollywood star has shared her amazement at this department store and its supermarket. While in Madrid filming the film, Moore discovered what she considers one of the city’s greatest treasures: Spanish supermarkets.
In an interview with Vogue, the actress confessed that El Corte Inglés became one of her favorite spots, especially its supermarket floor. “I went there every day. Every night he would say to me: ‘Julie, you don’t need to come back again’. But I always came back,” she confessed. She even invited her husband, who visited her during filming, to see what she calls “the best supermarket in the world.”

Later, on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, she commented again: “It’s the best supermarket in the world. It has absolutely everything: flowers, fish, fresh food… and it’s really beautiful.” But hey! “You can do everything there,” she added, totally fascinated. If the actress has projects in Spain and you want to meet her, you know where to go for a stroll.
