The trip comes after Kate was reportedly replaced as the face of Diet Coke by Jamie Dornan – with the Irish actor having already filmed a huge campaign for the low-calorie drink.
A source told George V Magazine: ‘Jamie shot a huge campaign for Diet Coke just recently at a lido in South London,. This is going to be absolutely massive and Coca Cola has thrown a lot of money at it.
‘Jamie’s deal is worth millions and they think it’s going to pay dividends with giving fans a bit of nostalgia’.
In July 2022, Kate hit the headlines after she signed a huge new deal with Diet Coke following being named the new ‘creative director’ of the global brand as it celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023.
According to The Mirror, the catwalk star ‘could be earning up to £5million for the partnership’.
An advertising source told the publication: ‘Far from her star having waned, the next stage of Mossy’s career is burning brighter than ever. She is still very much the hottest ticket in town.’
The two were photographed while on vacation in Spain, taking a dip in the Mediterranean Sea. Looking modelesque even in their downtime, Kate and Lila were the picture of elegant minimalism. Kate wore a strapless black swimsuit with a ruched waist and a twisted, sweetheart neckline. Her daughter, on the other hand, wore a simple string bikini in chocolate brown.
The supermodel was brought on board to bring her ‘unique aesthetic and style to the brand’ after the beverage was previously involved in several fashionable collaborations.
Speaking about her role, Kate said: ‘I am thrilled to join the Diet Coke family – I love the past collaborations they’ve done with such incredible names in fashion.
‘The Love What You Love campaign connected with me instantly as I am a firm believer that with confidence and passion, you can achieve your wildest dreams.
She continued: ‘As Creative Director, I’m looking forward to inspiring fans and celebrating the brand’s 40th Birthday in style.’
Last June she fronted her second campaign for the beverage brand and paid homage to the famous 11:30 Diet Coke Break advert from 1997.
The model urged fans to take a moment to ‘Love What You Love’ – spotlighting individuals who embrace a positive attitude to life, by knowing who they are and what they love.
For Season 2, Kate was given exclusive access to the brand’s archives for inspiration, drawing on the iconic 11:30 Break TV adverts from the ’90s and 2000s as her source of creativity.
Ever the stylish duo, Kate and Lila shared a Vogue cover last December. Kate spoke about the “balance” within their relationship in the accompanying interview, telling the publication: “She’s more carefree, where I’m more organized. She’s intuitive, I’m disciplined,” a sentiment also reflected in their outfit choices.
In one shot, the catwalk queen can be seen sipping a Diet Coke whilst standing in front of the London skyline, in a clear nod to the 1997 television spot which saw an office full of women watch in awe as a shirtless, hunky window washer enjoyed a bottle of Diet Coke to cool off.
Speaking about the campaign, Kate said: ‘Last year was such an incredible experience, so when we collaborated on Season 2, the brand’s archives were an amazing place to start.
‘The Diet Coke Breaks are classics, and I wanted to add a fashion twist to these moments.
‘The campaign is very different aesthetically to the ’90s and 2000s but the narrative is the same. It’s all about a pause to love what you love and indulge yourself in that moment, without taking yourself too seriously. I’m excited to unveil the new campaign soon!’
Though they both went for simple swimwear, their styling couldn’t have been more different. Lila accessorized only with hoop earrings (a notably “carefree” choice), while Kate channeled the more polished “rich mom” aesthetic, in a diamond statement necklace and gold bangles. She finished with a pair of black sunglasses that looked like a mix between cat eye frames and wayfarers—a classic style made modern.
Though the pair are rarely seen together in public, it’s always a sight to behold when they’re side-by-side. They’re sometimes spotted at London or Pairs Fashion Week, always sitting front row and always dressed to the nines. They’ve even been known to share the runway, having both walked in Fendi’s Haute Couture show in 2021. All this is to say, the Mosses are a fashion force to be reckoned with—even when they’re OOO.
