Tip number 1: Focus on a K-Beauty routine
Very popular, K-Beauty (understand: cosmetics from South Korea) is now everywhere. On social networks, new Korean trends or brands quickly become viral. It must be said that their skincare routines, in several steps, emphasize healthy and youthful-looking skin. On the program: innovative active ingredients, surprising textures, facial gymnastics or even the cult double cheese cleanse.
Tip number 2: Opt for straighter eyebrows
In Korea, the trend is towards straight eyebrows. “Korean women prefer a barely visible curve for their eyebrows because they think it makes them look younger,” makeup artist Cat Ko tells Byrdie magazine. For them, an arched brow line is neither aesthetic nor anti-aging.
Tip number 3: Adopt fruit juice make-up
Another tip from the makeup artist: fruit juice makeup. An aesthetic adopted by many Korean women to appear as young as possible. “This means having enough color on the cheeks, as if it were a ripe fruit ready to eat and overflowing with juice,” explains the professional. To achieve this, you should bet on lips with fruity shades or even on a blush color similar to watermelon or peach and cream.
Tip number 4: Dare to use peach tones
To take fruit juice makeup further, Cat Ko recommends a color that is all the rage in Korea: peach. As strange as it may seem, Korean women love peach or reddish tones around the eyes, because it makes you look like you’ve cried. A phenomenon that, according to the specialist, makes you more attractive in Korea. A trend similar to that of “Crying makeup”, very popular in 2022.
Tip number 5: Prefer cushion foundation
Cushion foundation, have you heard of it? Very popular in Asia, these fluid foundations in the shape of a box stand out thanks to their sponge filled with tinted product. Application is done by tapping the soaked sponge on the cushion to pick up some product, then tapping this sponge on the face to apply the foundation. This method allows you to build coverage gradually without a mask effect, leaving a natural and luminous finish.
