Bella Hadid Is Making Us Rethink Our Skinny Jeans Phobia

The return of the trend has officially arrived?

Anyone who followed the fashion of the 2010s loved skinny jeans. The tighter the jeans, especially in the calves, the better. Then, our closets underwent a complete turnaround, when “mom” jeans from the 80s returned to the fashion scene, followed by boyfriend jeans, baggy jeans and finally barrel jeans. Every year we have witnessed bigger and wider trends in the world today. But then, the fashion pendulum swung again, as it usually does, and Bella Hadid is its herald.

However, this time the return of skinny jeans doesn’t cause us complete repulsion, as we first thought. Maybe because it’s in the hands of someone as stylishly skilled as Hadid. The founder of the Orebella brand wore her skinny jeans while walking around New York this week.

However, the silhouette of the skinny jeans stood in direct contrast to her choice of top: an oversized zip-up jacket in caramel leather, trimmed with soft cream fur. The rest of the outfit featured more idiosyncratic elements, including a black majicut, a coin necklace, a black headband, and Y2K-style shield glasses.

It’s possible that skinny jeans will eventually replace barrel jeans as the leading denim trend – a fate that seems increasingly likely if street style’s latest sightings are anything to go by. Other celebrities who have reintroduced skinny jeans to their style include Katie Holmes, Zoe Saldaña, Meghan Markle and Irina Shayk.
