The sad news came as a shock to all her colleagues and fans in Austria and Germany. As the Players agency announced, citing the family of the Berlin-born actress, the young talent passed away on Monday, May 13th. No official details regarding the exact circumstances or cause of death have yet been released by the family or the agency. The film industry has lost a face whose career was just beginning to take off.
Despite her young age, Luna Jordan was already a familiar face on television. Just this past March, the Berlin native appeared in an episode of the popular crime series “Polizeiruf 110.” She also gained considerable recognition for her role in the series “Jenseits der Spree,” where she starred alongside Jürgen Vogel (58). She also appeared in the popular ZDF production “Der Bergdoktor” in 2017. Most recently, she was in the midst of filming the new series “Hamburg Days,” which explores the early years of the legendary band The Beatles. In this production, Jordan was to portray the photographer and artist Astrid Kirchherr (who died at 81), considered a key figure in the inner circle of the world-famous band.
Great success in Austria
The actress also enjoyed considerable success on the big screen, showcasing her great talent. For her performance in the drama “Fuchs im Bau” (Fox in the Burrow), she received the Austrian Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2022. During her acceptance speech, Luna Jordan used her moment in the spotlight to speak very seriously and critically about the issue of sexual abuse throughout the film and theater industry.
Open words about burdens
She also publicly addressed how intense and demanding working in front of the camera can be. In an NDR documentary titled “Child Actors – The Price of Success,” Jordan spoke openly and honestly about the extreme emotional strain that difficult roles, especially at a young age, can bring. She explained how hard it often is to emotionally distance oneself from these roles. In recent years, her talent was also seen in productions such as “Run Me Wild” and the coming-of-age series “Euphoria.” This series is based on an Israeli original that became world-famous in the US under the same name, starring Zendaya (29). The German film industry is losing an actress who was considered a huge promise for the future.
