The Première Sound watch is a reimagined take on the maison’s 1987 jewelry watch, now redesigned to be worn as a necklace. The piece features an octagonal face on a chain inspired by the brand’s signature braided shoulder straps. But here’s the kicker: This hybrid doubles as wired headphones, letting you listen to music and take calls directly from your phone.
It is, firstly, a sizeable 18k yellow gold-coated woven steel necklace created in the sautoir style, intentionally exaggerating the dainty band inherent to the Chanel Première watch series.

Now you can accessorize your look, keep track of the time, and listen to your favorite tunes all at once. Plus, you don’t have to sacrifice quality for beauty, as the Premiere Sound features state-of-the-art audio technology, that can hook up to any device, allowing for an immersive listening experience with sound insulation. Coco Chanel once said, “I want to be part of what’s to come,” and this innovative piece definitely places Chanel right in the intersection of music and fashion.
True to Chanel’s pursuit of refined, classically elegant sensibilities, Prèmiere Sound features a sturdy, polished black watch face coated with 18K yellow gold, a pared-back black steel dial, and a bold steel crown coated with 18K yellow gold and set with onyx cabochon. The steel necklace chain acts as a continuation of the same classic aesthetic, with steel, yellow gold, and soft leather woven into its construction.
The watch itself functions with high-precision quartz movement, but the state-of-the-art audio technology in the removable wired headphones is what truly launches Prèmiere Sound into the future. With external noise cancellation, a crisp microphone, and high-quality sound, the headphones rival the standard tech that has skyrocketed your favorite wireless headphones or earbuds into mass popularity. Of course, the Prèmiere Sound earbuds wouldn’t be complete without one final aesthetic touch—the iconic interlocking C monogram on the exterior of each side.
If you need any more reasons to add this piece to your fall wardrobe, Blackpink’s Jennie was spotted wearing the accessory at Chanel’s Coco Crush pop-up in Seoul in July. And if that’s not enough, Lily-Rose Depp, a longtime muse and brand ambassador for the label, leads the campaign, in which she can be seen dancing around Coco Chanel’s apartment to to Simple Minds’ “Promised You a Miracle.”
