They say good things come in threes: Canadian pop phenom Tate McRae has announced her sophomore album, alongside a Saturday Night Live appearance and plans for a world tour in 2024. Think Later is set for release via RCA Records on December 8 — just weeks after McRae makes her SNL debut with host Jason Momoa on November 18. The album is now available for pre-order.
It follows the Calgary-born artist’s JUNO-nominated 2022 debut album, i used to think i could fly. As recently teased, the LP was executive produced by pop mastermind Ryan Tedder, who first collaborated with the singer on her recent hit “greedy.”
She exclaimed: Through the biggest highs of my life to the lowest of lows — I feel so happy that it is now gonna be yours <3 here’s to 20 years old and figuring [out] who the fuck i am haha.”
Next year, she’ll head out on a world tour behind the album, beginning in the UK and Europe in the spring. The North American leg kicks off in July with a hometown show in Calgary and a stop at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage before McRae continues playing shows in the US through the summer months. She’ll bring the Think Later tour to Australia and New Zealand.
Calgary’s own pop princess Tate McRae has been riding the momentum of her 2023 sophomore album’s hit singles like “greedy” and “exes” — as well as more recent standalone track “It’s ok I’m ok” — while touring the world this year. Now, she’s announced the forthcoming release of her third studio record, which is set to be previewed by new single “2 hands” later today, and a 2025 world tour announcement.
So Close to What is due February 21 through RCA Records as the follow-up to last year’s Think Later. McRae shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Making this album has been the most beautiful and exciting journey & i cannot wait to finally to be with you!!!!!!!!!!”
