It’s not the spring hair transformation we expected from Gigi Hadid – but it might just be better. Kicking off Paris Fashion Week AW25 in true style, the model attended Le Grand Dîner du Louvre, a fundraising event celebrating the museum’s Louvre Couture exhibition, where she unveiled her bold new ‘Silver Tequila’ blonde bob, created by her long-time hair stylist Dimitris Giannetos.
To maintain depth and dimension, Giannetos introduced a dark brown root to Hadid’s ‘do, gradually blending it into this striking silvery platinum blonde shade. Might this be 2025’s iteration of the ‘expensive blonde’ hair trend?
As it turns out, ‘silvery tones are a perfect choice for spring,’ says Laura Elliott, head stylist and educator at haircare specialists Neäl & Wølf. ‘Their cool, pearlescent tones reflect light beautifully and make for a really fresh, modern look.’ It’s a look that had many fans circa 2010 – a time where the majority steered fiercely clear of warm, golden shades of blonde and favoured an ashier appearance. But since then, trend patterns have suggested quite the opposite.
Who Should Consider ‘Silver Tequila’ Blonde?
‘The subtle blend of platinum, blue and violet undertones create an iridescent finish that flatters a whole range of skin tones, particularly neutral or cooler complexions. I think it looks wonderfully striking on fairer skin tones.’
How To Achieve Gigi Hadid’s ‘Silver Tequila’ Blonde
‘Being a natural blonde, Hadid’s silver hair transformation will have been easier to achieve due to her lighter base.’ In this scenario, it’s possible to achieve Hadid’s look with an ashy, cool-toned toner and a root smudge, but for those with a brunette base looking to achieve this shade, ‘it may require multiple sessions to lighten the hair. A good purple shampoo will be your best friend when looking to maintain the silver tone,’ advises Elliott.
