Pearls will be the obsession of the summer. Small and large necklaces are becoming the stars of every look.

Cleopatra, Coco Chanel, Lady Diana. If pearls could talk, they would recount centuries of history, power, and, above all, sophistication. Once reserved for nobility and the altars of the most classic luxury, these precious stones are now becoming an increasingly democratized, almost irresistible, accessory.

They remain a symbol of distinction, certainly, but their rigidity has been shaken by a wave of original alternatives that have made them the star accessory of summer 2025. More than just a decorative detail, pearls are becoming integrated into women’s fashion as a whole, like an extension that flatters, stylizes, and elevates every style. At least, that’s what the runways demonstrated.

On the catwalks, an avalanche of pearls

At Chanel, pearls were both a tribute and a revolution: XL, multi-strand necklaces draped nonchalantly over knit dresses and tweed suits during the Fall/Winter 2025 show, serving as a visual manifesto for the house. At Moschino, maximalism reigned supreme. Pearls didn’t just adorn, they overflowed: from simple chokers encased in pearls to sprawling necklaces that branched out down the models’ torsos like flowing water . The result is a bold luxury that doesn’t sacrifice elegance, but rather embraces it without fear.

Ahluwalia and Carven offered a similar interpretation. Ahluwalia’s pearls left the models’ necks to ascend their bodies, wrapping around dresses and suits to form a contemporary armor. On the Carven runway, pearls of varying sizes were transformed into unique interlacing patterns, placed around the models’ necks and backs. New versions of a classic that, nevertheless, refuse to relinquish a strict sense of elegance.

Like the fashion shows, brands from all walks of life have filled their collections with pearls for every taste and budget: from baroque multi-strand necklaces to delicate pendants adorned with mother-of-pearl charms. From Chloé to Sézane, and including Completed Works, whether they elevate an everyday look or add a theatrical touch to an evening outfit, this summer’s pearls transcend age and brand.
