The Princess of Wales has previously shared some of the dishes she likes to cook for her three children, revealing she enjoys making a variety of dishes from scratch
She’s previously opened up about her go-to dishes for the family, highlighting her domestic prowess. Recollecting a conversation on BBC Radio 1 with her spouse Prince William and hosts Jordan North and Vick Hope last year, she queried Prince William, “Are you cooking? “, eliciting his response, “No, I think it will probably be a curry, won’t it tonight? “. The Princess then said she might whip up one of her favourites like a curry or teriyaki salmon. She pointed out when preparing curry, she adds spice gradually since William cannot take very hot ones as it makes him “too sweaty”.
In addition to curries, the Duchess enjoys preparing Italian dishes with her brood. During an engagement at Lavender Primary School, she shared with Matthew Kleiner-Mann that they’re fond of making cheesy pasta together, where each child takes part in the fun stirring flour or adding milk and butter. They also love putting together salads, truly a family affair in the kitchen, reports the Express.
Kate is quite the homemade pizza aficionado, and it’s a family affair with her little ones getting stuck in to help knead the dough. Speaking to Mary Berry, the Duchess shared: “I really enjoy it. Actually one of the last things we cooked, together, was your pizza dough. We made pizzas with your pizza dough recipe…They absolutely loved it.”
The princess also said once she cooks the curry, she has to gradually add the spice bit by bit as William admitted he can’t handle very hot curries without getting “too sweaty”. As well as curries, Kate has also shared how much both she and her children love to cook Italian food.
During a visit to Lavender Primary School, she told Matthew Kleiner-Mann how the family often rustle up a comforting bowl of mac ‘n’ cheese. He said: “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her. “They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”
Kate has also been known to make homemade pizza from scratch with the help of her children who enjoy making the dough.
She once told Mary Berry: “I really enjoy it. Actually one of the last things we cooked, together, was your pizza dough. We made pizzas with your pizza dough recipe…They absolutely loved it.”
Kate Middleton Shares the Dish Prince William Cooked to “Impress Her” Back at University
During A Very Berry Christmas, Kate opened up about her husband’s skills in the kitchen.
During last year’s A Very Berry Christmas special, Prince William admitted that he isn’t a pro in the kitchen. “Catherine is definitely the one who cooks, not me,” he said.
But it wasn’t always that way. Back when the Cambridges were at St Andrews University, Prince William wooed Kate with his pasta sauce-making prowess.
At one point during the program, British baking icon Mary Berry asked Kate: “Does William ever cook for you?”
Kate’s reply perhaps indicates that William is downplaying his cooking skills. “He sometimes does actually. He’s very good at breakfast. University days, he used to cook all sorts of meals. I think that’s when he was trying to impress me, Mary. Things like bolognese sauce and things like that,” she said.
Prince William honed his cooking skills while at boarding school at Eton College. In this picture, taken in 2000, he’s making chicken paella.
As it turns out, the Cambridge kids are also quickly becoming fans of Italian cuisine. During a separate part of the program, Kate revealed that they’d recently been making pizza, with Berry’s dough recipe, of course.
When asked by Mary Berry, “Do you do a bit of cooking with your children?” Kate responded: “Yes, I really enjoy it. Again, for them to be creative, for them to try and be as independent as possible with it. Actually one of the last things we cooked, together, was your pizza dough. We made pizzas with your pizza dough recipe…They absolutely loved it.”
The duchess also shared that they grow their own vegetables at home, and that “Louis absolutely loves beetroot.” As for Princess Charlotte, she’s is a fan of Charlotte potatoes, naturally.
