Baby Bieber’s middle name ‘Blues’ seems to be a nod to the musical genre, which originated in the Deep South of the US in the 1860s.
African-Americans are credited with establishing the genre, with Black artists including Robert Johnson, B.B. King and Muddy Waters among the most famous blues musicians.
Justin has been known to incorporate elements of blues in his own music, including songs like All That Matters (2013).
The couple have not yet confirmed the meaning behind their son’s name.
Justin and Hailey announced they were expecting in May 2024 with a romantic Instagram post packed with photos and videos showing off the model’s growing belly.
It was an exciting milestone for the pair and Hailey has been open about her plans to start a family with the Baby singer.
In an interview with The Sunday Times last year she confessed she “wants kids so bad, but I get scared”.
“It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”
She met Justin back in 2009, when her actor father Stephen Baldwin introduced them backstage at the Today show, though little came of that meeting.
The next time they met was in 2011, when she walked the red carpet at the premiere of Justin’s movie Never Say Never. They became friendly, but didn’t connect romantically for years.
“Everybody had a crush on him – but for the first few years we had a weird age gap,” Hailey once told Vogue.
Rumours that the two were dating first emerged in late 2014, but Justin and Hailey didn’t officially make their romance public until January 2016.
What followed was an on-again off-again romance that culminated in the pair finally getting engaged and married in 2018.
“Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you!” Justin wrote on Instagram after announcing their engagement.
“So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindly.”
The rest is history.
