Bagnaia won, ahead of Marc Márquez, but Martinator was third to fulfill his dream
The conditions were good, but cold, with temperatures of just 16 degrees in the air and 15 degrees on the asphalt. Bagnaia opted for hard tyres at the front and soft at the rear, and Martin for hard and medium tyres. Marc and Bastianini were riding like Pecco, Aleix like Jorge.
At the start, Bagnaia controlled from pole . Martín made a clean start to get into second, blocking the eldest of the Márquez brothers. The Beast moved up from eighth to fourth. Aleix dropped from second to fifth. Viñales had to go to the outside.

Marc did not hesitate and overtook Jorge at the end of the straight after the first pass through the finish line. All with plenty of space between them.
MARC NO SE CORTA 🔥🔥

Aleix did what he couldn’t do in the Sprint: he launched himself and overtook Bastianini , especially at Turn 5, where the Rimini rider had overtaken Martinator in the short race. Enea tried to reply, but Espargaró resisted at Turn 10.
Of course, all this gave Jorge more room . His friend was doing a great job as a squire… and thinking about his own last race.
However, La Bestia was able to overtake Aleix on the next pass through the 10th. Aprilia’s Il Capitano responded by surprising Enea at the end of the straight. Impressive.
Pecco was pulling, but Marc was holding on at the back. Jorge could not keep up, although Aleix was trying hard to ensure that Bastianini did not give Martín too much trouble. Behind them, Alex Marquez overtook Morbidelli and Acosta to move into sixth place.
Joan Mir crashed . He was running 12th, which meant he was left without any points in a disastrous campaign with the Honda.
Bastianini went wide at Turn 1. He dropped to eighth, and engaged in a fight with Morbidelli. More peace of mind for the San Sebastián de los Reyes rider and for Aleix.

Espargaró had a new mission as a bodyguard: to cover Alex Marquez . Acosta was just arriving. He had to go out on his second bike after his heavy incident in the warm up.
The Beast, at last, could beat Morbidelli, and was getting closer to the Shark of Mazarrón. His third place in the general classification, ahead of Marc, depended on further growth.
However, the Murcian was suffering and was overtaken by Bastianini and Binder. The South African was playing for the lead in the general classification, as the first KTM/GasGas rider, and Morbidelli’s pass left the Mazarrón rider behind.
The race seemed to drag on forever in the Prima Pramac box . His parents, Ángel and Susana, his brother Javier and his girlfriend, María, were biting their nails in anticipation of Jorge’s achievement.
Martin seemed to be riding comfortably in third position. He needed to finish in the top nine if Bagnaia won, as was the case.
The excitement returned with the fight between Álex Márquez and Espargaró for fourth place. It was now a matter of personal pride, as Martinator was two seconds behind both of them.
Marc tried to get closer to Pecco, but the Turin native, as always, was managing things and pushed a little harder at the end.
Jorge steeled his nerves and concentrated. Every meter less he walked was one meter closer to sleep.
And he did it. The crown was his. More than deserved. His solidity has been spectacular. He is the champion. It didn’t matter that Bagnaia won and Marc was second. By the way, Alex beat Aleix.
Glory is only for one and it was for Martinator, the first of his life in the premier class. The second, after the Moto3 of 2018. And the fifth Spaniard to win in the top class, after Álex Crivillé, Jorge Lorenzo, Marc Márquez and Joan Mir.

Gigi Dall’Igna, the CEO of Ducati Corsi and a great technical guru, and the CEO of all Ducati, Claudio Domenicali, went to congratulate Campinotti and the rest of the Prima Pramac for the title. The Bolognese were very clean in their dealings. And an example of sportsmanship.
At his special celebration, he stepped into the shoes of the Terminator , with the soundtrack playing in the background. He fired and everything opened up. Inside the cube was the special helmet. And the ‘1’ on its dome. Martinator won. The delirium ensued.
