As the screening of his documentary draws to a close, Elton John takes the stage. It is in front of the crowd that he speaks without filter about his health: “To be honest with you, there is not much left of me,” he declared.
The “I’m Still Standing” singer then jokingly listed the organs or bones he’s missing at age 77. “I don’t have tonsils, adenoids or appendix. I don’t have a prostate,” he said. “I don’t have a right hip, I don’t have a left knee. In fact, the only thing I have left is my left hip. But I’m still here.”
Following the broadcast of the documentary directed by her husband David Furnish, and during this same speech, he looks back on his successful career with great pride: “As you know, I decided to stop touring because I’m 77 years old, I did everything there was to do, to play. I succeeded. I went and I did it.” This documentary seems to be further proof that Elton John has it all.
Elton John, a singer devoted to his family
During his speech, between humor and nostalgia, Elton John was full of praise for his entourage: “Music will continue to be a part of my life. But what matters most in my life is David, Zachary and Elijah, my family and my friends. I have found utopia and I am delighted.” In front of the crowd, this Tuesday, October 1, he emphasized: “I found complete and absolute happiness and bliss when I met David and when I had my children, our children. And it satisfied me so much. I have never felt happiness like the one I feel now.”
