The corset swooped into a sharp point in the middle of her chest and the middle of her pelvis, giving a strong, almost medieval look to the top. She paired this fierce piece with a slinky black maxiskirt, which hugged her calves and pooled around her feet. She swept her hair back in a parted updo and finished off the look with a pair of long, dangly gold earrings.
Beckinsale’s appearance at London Fashion Week comes after a difficult year. The actress spent six weeks in the hospital dealing with a number of health issues. She later opened up about the cause of her hospitalization.
“I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer,” she wrote in an Instagram comment. “And I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly.”
She went on: “And then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus [sic] which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering, because it also involved the theme of the death of my father.”
