Bulgari Brings auruBOROS to New York for Serpenti Infinito

On the High Line for Bulgari’s latest Serpenti Infinito chapter.

Bulgari brings its Serpenti Infinito project to New York with auruBOROS – Urban Memory and Collective Dream, a large-scale public installation created by Berlin-based artist duo Plastique Fantastique. Open from September 10 through 20, 2026, the work occupies the High Line above Little West 12th Street and marks Bulgari’s first public installation in the United States.

Commissioned specifically for Serpenti Infinito in New York, auruBOROS takes the form of a monumental golden structure composed of pneumatic coils that rise from beneath The Standard. The installation brings the Serpenti icon into an architectural context, translating its recognizable curves into an immersive form that visitors can encounter directly within the city.

Artists Marco Canevacci and Yena Young, who work together as Plastique Fantastique, developed the installation around the invisible pressures and rhythms that exist beneath New York’s surface. Their practice often explores the relationship between constructed space and imagination through immersive environments. For Bulgari, they apply that approach to the city itself, creating a temporary structure that interrupts the familiar setting of the High Line.

The project continues the international development of Serpenti Infinito, which began in Shanghai in 2023 before reaching Seoul and Mumbai in 2025. Each edition considers how the Serpenti symbol can adapt to a different city and cultural context while maintaining its recognizable identity. New York becomes the latest location for that ongoing exploration.

Gold provides another central reference for auruBOROS. The installation draws on the alchemical understanding of gold as transformative matter, using its reflective surface and monumental scale to respond to the constantly changing activity around it. Visitors experience the work differently as light, perspective and movement alter its appearance throughout the day.

The New York presentation also introduces a selection of Bulgari High Jewelry connected to Serpenti and the city’s artistic history. Three new Serpenti Tubogas creations make their worldwide debut alongside an exclusive High Accessories minaudière. Bulgari will offer the pieces in selected boutiques beginning in September.

Through the installation and accompanying High Jewelry releases, Bulgari extends Serpenti beyond jewelry and into public space. The coiling form of auruBOROS translates the icon into an architectural scale, allowing its curves to interact directly with the High Line and the people passing through it.
