Victoria Beckham Thinks Being Thin Is “Old-Fashioned”

  • Victoria Beckham is known for her strict diet and slim figure.
  • Now the 48-year-old surprises with her statements in “Grazia” magazine, in which she said: “It’s an old-fashioned attitude to want to be very thin.”
  • The fashion designer is now being criticized for this view.
  • Just a few weeks ago, her husband David revealed in an interview that the Brit has been sticking to a very strict diet plan for years.

Victoria Beckham has always drawn attention to the importance of a healthy diet and plenty of exercise for a slim figure. Now the 48-year-old’s perception of an ideal body image may have changed – and that caused criticism.

In an interview with “Grazia” magazine, the mother of four revealed: “It’s an old-fashioned attitude to want to be very thin.” She explained that modern women “want to look healthy and curvy. They want to have breasts – and a butt.” The British woman was convinced of this opinion by her trip to Miami. In the USA there are many really curvy women who would like their figure and also want to be curvy. This was a liberating attitude for her.

Eat grilled fish and steamed vegetables every day

However, the 48-year-old caused great irritation with these statements. The former Spicegirl is known for her slim figure as well as her strict diet. Regarding the interview, a fan wrote on Twitter: “Sorry, but Victoria Beckham is really not a good example of accepting her clothing size when she has restricted her life so much with her calorie intake and is known for being a size 32!” In addition, her husband David Beckham (47) revealed in the “River Cafe Table 4” podcast at the beginning of April that Victoria has only eaten steamed vegetables and grilled fish every day for 25 years.

But the designer received real criticism above all for her new collection, which she praised in the same interview. With the VB dress, she markets a “strict knit that cuts in at the waist and shapes you in all the right places.” She explained: “The curvier you are, the better the dress looks on you.” Despite this statement, the designer clothes are only available up to size 48. Many fans see this as discriminatory and share their opinions on Twitter. One user wrote: “I can only laugh at Victoria Beckham’s article by offering dresses for ‘curvy’ women, but only selling them up to size 48.” While another said: “Maybe she’ll be able to get her sizes correct for XL at some point.”
