An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck near the south of Japan on Sunday, according to the Japan’s Metorological Agency (JMA).

The quake was registered at 4:12 pm UTC local time at a depth of 30 kilometers. The epicenter was recorded 103 kilometers north of the Japanese town of Tatsugo, located on Amami Oshima, in Oshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture.

There were no initial reports of casualties or material damage, and the JMA issued no tsunami warning following the earthquake.
