The larger battery reads like a plus point, but the RSR cannot achieve longer runtimes in the test. Honor has also not improved the cooling of the fast Snapdragon SoC. The price is in the upper segment, meaning you can save around 50% with the Pro model if you don’t need the additional features.

Price and availability
The Magic7 RSR has a recommended retail price (RRP) of 1,899 euros and is available exclusively directly from Honor or (even cheaper) at Porsche Design.
The Honor Magic7 RSR was designed by the traditional German company Porsche Design but is technically very similar to the Honor Magic7 Pro. In addition to the larger memory, Honor has also added a bigger battery. The camera has also been upgraded.
Magic7 RSR in sporty elegance
The Honor Magic7 RSR is available in Provence and Agate Grey colors. The revised exterior of the smartphone comes from Porsche Design. It is said to contain the characteristic design elements of the German company and, in this case, is inspired by the aerodynamic aesthetics of the Taycan Turbo S. The workmanship is very good, and the RSR feels great in the hand. It is also certified according to IP68 and IP69 standards.
The equipment is nominally identical to the Magic7 Pro. Still, the RSR has twice as much memory, a more powerful battery, a more light-sensitive telephoto sensor, and a better autofocus system.
Communication and operation – Smartphone with all-inclusive
The Porsche Design | Honor Magic7 RSR supports a wide range of mobile phone frequency bands with all modern network standards. In addition to two nano SIM cards, it supports eSIM (dual eSIM). The voice quality is good, and noise is also effectively filtered out. The user of the smartphone remains intelligible even in acoustically extreme situations, but then sounds somewhat more cramped.
Honor’s NanoCrystal Shield protects the Magic7 RSR’s capacitive touchscreen and has good gliding properties. Inputs are implemented quickly and precisely. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is also integrated into the display, while 3D face recognition is made possible by a ToF sensor. Both systems are secure and work quickly. The linear vibration motor also provides crisp haptic feedback.
Software and sustainability – Long updates for the RSR
In terms of sustainability, the Porsche Design | Honor Magic7 RSR is similarly positioned to its sister model, and Honor provides hardly any information on this. The outer packaging is bulkier due to the larger scope of delivery.
The RSR already benefits from Honor’s Alpha Plan and receives seven years of updates. It is delivered with Google Android 15 and the in-house MagicOS 9.0, which also offers some AI functions.
Camera – Telephoto with better light-sensitivity for the Porsche Edition
At first glance, the camera setup of the Porsche Design | Honor Magic7 RSR is similar to that of the Magic7 Pro. However, the top model has implemented a so-called LiDAR Matrix autofocus system, which can draw on a LiDAR matrix with 1,200 focus points. This promises both faster and more precise focusing.
The optical 3x zoom with 200 MPix has also been upgraded and, with an aperture of f/1.88, is nominally faster than that in the Magic7 Pro (aperture f/2.6). In a direct comparison with identical settings, it is easy to see that the telephoto lens of the RSR captures more light.
The other camera characteristics are identical to those of the Pro model.
