ver the last few seasons, designers have brought skirts to the fore, building their collections around a few key skirt styles. These include Dries Van Noten’s maximalist fringed designs, Calvin Klein’s tailored knee-length skirts and sheer layered designs at Prada. For spring 2026, designers are even more confirming their fascination with skirts that shape the entire styling, and the season brings many new and fresh models.

After scouring the catwalks, social media and markets, we’ve singled out five skirt trends that are most relevant this season and will inevitably have a lasting impact on fashion in 2026. With pretty lace-trimmed skirts still reigning supreme, as well as cool-girl knee-length styles having their moment, this list can be your guide to all things stylish in spring fashion.
Lace

Yes, they are here again! Throughout 2025, skirts with lace detailing were the “It” pieces to follow, and Spring ’26 continues on the same path thanks to new interpretations that designers are bringing, each more elegant than the last. Although it is a small detail, a romantic lace border can completely refresh and modernize an outfit.
Knee-high

We can’t talk about skirts without mentioning probably the most popular model at the moment: knee-length skirts. They are tailored, inspired by the nineties and give a modern, directional look, especially in combination with elegant heels.
Maximalism

Feathers! Tassels! Glitter! If you want to follow the maximalist trend of 2026, it is best to do it with a textured skirt.
Slip skirts

This season, the focus is again on the classic slip skirt, a timeless piece that appears again and again in trends. Short knee-length models are current. Regardless of the cut or color, fashionistas combine it for a casual look with a simple t-shirt and flat shoes.
Leather

A leather skirt is a timeless wardrobe staple. Colored pencil cuts and luxurious crocodile patterns are the details that currently define the best leather skirts.
