What is eyebrow tinting?
Eyebrow tinting is a cosmetic procedure in which a semi-permanent pigment is applied to the eyebrows to achieve a fuller and more defined look. This procedure is perfect for those who want to improve the shape and color of their eyebrows, without the need for daily application of pencil or shadow. The pigments used in eyebrow tinting can be tailored to your needs, whether you want a natural, subtle look, or a more intense, dramatic effect.

How to tint eyebrows at home?

- Preparation and testing – Before you start, always test the color on a small area of skin (preferably on the inside of the wrist) to avoid possible allergic reactions. This is especially important if this is your first time tinting your eyebrows.
- Choosing the right shade – Choosing the right shade is key. If you want a natural look, choose a shade that is one or two shades darker than your natural brows. For a more dramatic look, you can choose a shade that is darker than your hair color. Most DIY packages only offer blue or brown, but try to stick to tones that match your natural look.
- Blondes : Choose from warm or cool shades of blonde.
- Brunettes : Choose a shade that is in perfect harmony with your hair, or slightly darker.
- Brunettes : Go for a shade that’s one shade lighter than your hair color, taking into account the undertones.
- Redheads : Tint your brows with a shade that matches your natural red tone or choose a color with reddish undertones.
- Applying the product – Before applying the color to your brows, apply a thin layer of Vaseline around the edges of your brows to prevent the color from coming into the skin. Then, according to the instructions on the package, apply the ink to the eyebrows using a precision brush. Be careful and avoid the ink coming into contact with the skin.
- Toning maintenance – Toning results can last four to six weeks. To prolong the effects, avoid using oil-based products on your brows, as they can speed up color removal.
The most common mistakes when tinting eyebrows
Although tinting your eyebrows at home can be simple, there are some mistakes to avoid in order to get the perfect result:
- Poor shade selection – Too dark or unnatural color can make brows look overly prominent. Always choose colors that match your natural look.
- Uneven application – If you apply the ink unevenly or too thickly, the result can be patchy, meaning you will have a brow with different levels of color.
- Holding the color too long – Each color has a recommended holding time. If you leave the ink on for too long, the brows may become too dark. On the other hand, if the color is not left long enough, the result may be weaker.
- Safety – Never apply paint too close to the eyes. Make sure you follow the instructions and avoid direct contact with the eyes, as irritation may occur.
