Instead of making impulse purchases, in recent years I have preferred to choose tried-and-tested, yet no less fashionable, styles that I can pair with almost anything and wear from morning coffee to evening get-togethers. From minimalist flip-flops that work just as well with linen trousers as they do with breezy summer dresses, and mesh ballet flats that are practically everywhere this year, to retro sneakers that offer a great alternative to chunkier athletic styles, “jelly” shoes for when I want to add a little more playfulness to my look, and classic wedge sandals that remain my first choice for long summer evenings.
