Domination!
The KarJenner clan is pretty good at collaborations when it comes to their fashion brands. Just last month, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian appeared to have buried their hatchets over the “Dolce Feud,” when Kourtney, along with her younger sister, starred in the SKIMS x Dolce & Gabbana campaign, and now Kris Jenner is stepping into the spotlight for Kylie’s brand Khy.
Announcing the upcoming collection, Kris Jenner appeared in a new series of photos, wearing a floor-length white fur coat from this collaboration.
Dolce & Gabbana and Skims join forces for a limited edition collection
The Italian luxury brand brings a colorful ‘dolce vita’ aesthetic to Kim’s underwear line. Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana is joining creative forces with Skims, Kim Kardashian’s brand, for a limited edition collection that will launch next week, Skims co-founder Jens Grede revealed at George V Magazine.
This collaboration between Kim’s underwear brand and the Italian luxury brand aims to bring their respective customer bases closer to new aesthetics and price points. “It all comes down to that tension between our aesthetic and what Dolce does,” Grede added. “I hope that this collaboration will show D&G in a slightly different light. They have the ability to reach millions of customers at a more affordable price. For Skims, this is an opportunity to “broaden our aesthetic.”
The collection, whose products will range from about $50 to $700, combines the fun Italian motifs of Dolce & Gabbana with the elegant, body-conforming shapes of Skims. “We mixed Italian charm with our signature comfort and solutions,” said Kim. “We dug into our archives to create a unique collection of sensual, empowering pieces, unlike anything we’ve done before.” Grede added that cooperation with Dolce & Gabbana “has been planned for a long time”. Skims has a penchant for Italian luxury – their first collaboration was with Fendi in 2021.
The Skims x Dolce & Gabbana campaign recalls a scene from a 1960s film with Sophia Loren, where Kim takes the place of the iconic Italian star. Both women emphasized their curves, setting idealized standards for the female bodies of their generations.
Little is known about the rest of the collection, but given the fur coat, it’s certain that the collection will be filled with winter wardrobe essentials.
The entire collection will be launched on the Khy website on December 12.
