In the film Maria , directed by Pablo Larain, the legendary opera diva Maria Callas is portrayed. This role required her not only acting skills, but also transformation through music and language. “I worked for months on singing, learning Italian and adopting her voice”, admitted the actress, emphasizing that the process had to be precise and certainly demanding. But that is not the only film in her repertoire. In parallel with acting, she continues her career as a director. The film Without Blood , starring Salma Hayek and Demian Bichir, is a story about two people connected by a traumatic event from their youth. This is a return to a theme that Angelina often explores as a director – the impact of conflict on actors. In this case, the conflict is never clearly defined, thus becoming universal and carrying a certain weight. This commitment to art comes at a time when Angelina is questioning the boundaries between private and public life. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she revealed that she doesn’t have many close friends, which she attributes to the loss of her mother at a young age and experiences of betrayal. “Maybe it’s because of losing a parent at a young age.” Maybe because of work.
