Spectacular “James Bond” Plan: Will 007 Now Get a Makeover?

Who will be the new James Bond? What will “Bond 26” be about? Who will direct? Fans are still guessing: Who will be the new James Bond? What will “Bond 26” be about? Who will direct? A new candidate is now being discussed for the director’s chair. He has a revolutionary idea in his luggage.

Zack Snyder (57) is certainly a directing heavyweight. With his first two projects – “Dawn Of The Dead” (2004) and “300” (2006) – he caused a stir and was a box office success. He dedicated eight years of his work to the DC Universe, for which he made films such as “Man of Steel” and “Justice League” between 2013 and 2021. Most recently he won the “Fan Favorite” Oscar for “Army Of The Dead” (2021) and a few days ago he launched the first part of the planned sci-fi trilogy “Rebel Moon” on Netflix.

Is the American now throwing his hat into the ring for an even bigger prestige project? He shows interest in James Bond.

Revolutionary idea: Will there soon be a “young James Bond” in the cinema?

However, as the US industry portal “Screenrant” reported, Snyder doesn’t just dream of “Bond 26”, but of a revolution: He wants to make a film about the young James Bond. “It would be cool to see 20-year-old James Bond. The humble roots he comes from. What childhood trauma caused him to become James Bond? There has to be something there,” Synder said in an interview with The Atlantic “.

The idea itself is not new. There are currently nine novels in the “Young Bond” series, which British author Charlie Higson (65) began in 2005. The hero of the novels, however, is a 13-year-old James Bond, who lives at the elite boarding school Eton after the death of his parents and solves tricky cases there – and also in exotic locations such as Mexico or Kitzbühel – including murder and manslaughter. There was no film adaptation.

The young James Bond – just a thought?

In fact, the production company Eon Productions is having a hard time rejuvenating the Bond character. The youngest Bond actor when he took office was George Lazenby. He was 29 when he appeared in front of the cameras for “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” All other Bonds were at least in their mid-30s or older. Daniel Craig,  retired after his fifth film (“No Time to Die”, 2021), was 37 when filming for his Bond premiere “Casino Royale” began in 2005.

When it came to the cast of “Casino Royale” and thus the successor to Pierce Brosnan (70), Henry Cavill (40) was also discussed. He was only 22 years old at the time and was too young for the producers.

You can find all the rumors and facts about the new Bond here.

As the wait for decisions at Eon Productions continues, not only about the new man in the tuxedo and serving His Majesty, but also about the future direction of the series, Zack Snyder’s thought will remain what it is: a nice idea. The director also told “The Atlantic” in an interview that he has no plans to actually tackle a Bond film in the foreseeable future.
