The storybook-style California villa hasn’t been on the market in more than 45 years
Having called it home for the past few decades, actress Priscilla Presley is parting with her storybook-style villa in Beverly Hills, California, having freshly listed the spread for sale with a $15.99 million price tag.
Its introduction to the market on Monday marked the first time the home has been available for sale in more than 45 years, according to the listing with Jonah Wilson of Hilton & Hyland, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Set on over an acre of land and tucked away behind double gates, the Mediterranean-style spread is a “true sanctuary offering privacy and seclusion that is so rare today,” reads the listing and it “has been lovingly maintained by the current owner.”
Built in 1951 and since updated, according to the Los Angeles Times, who first reported the listing, the home is loaded with rustic character and charm from the stately fireplaces to beamed ceilings and paneled walls.
The seven-bedroom property has a number of entertainment spaces, including the formal living room, the dining room and the library, and nearly every room opens out onto the verdant garden, according to the listing.
Outside, a separate guest suite is above the garage, and gardens house a pool and tennis court.
Property records, which identify Ms. Presley as the owner, do not extend far enough back to detail when exactly she acquired the home, or how much she paid for it.
Last spring, Ms. Presley, who was married to the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Elvis Presley from 1967 until their divorce in 1973, parted with another longtime property in nearby Brentwood, selling it after just three weeks on the market for above its asking price.
A former actress, Ms. Presley, 75, is best known for her roles in “The Naked Gun” film series and on the television drama series “Dallas.”
A representative for Ms. Presley did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
