This comes after fans speculated the “Shallow” singer was set to take the stage on the River Seine in Paris, along with other rumored artists, including Celine Dion, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande and French singer Aya Nakamura. BC News reported earlier this week that rumors increased after Gaga and Dion were spotted arriving in Paris ahead of the Olympics, a global, multisport competition. The A Star Is Born actress was seen in social media videos on Monday waving to fans outside her car in France’s capital.
Gaga, a Grammy- and Oscar-winning performer, has been busy the past few years filming the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux, where she plays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck/Joker, and headlining her Las Vegas residency show, called Enigma + Jazz & Piano.
In 2022, she was also traveling the globe for her seventh headlining concert tour, The Chromatica Ball, in support of her sixth studio album Chromatica.
The “Bad Romance” artist’s Olympic opening ceremony performance marks her first time on a televised stage since her stripped-down performance of “Hold My Hand” at the 95th Academy Awards last year. The song from Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for best original song.
Earlier this week, French newspaper Le Parisien reported that Dion will perform “L’Hymne à l’amour” by Édith Piaf at the Olympics. This would be the “My Heart Will Go On” singer’s first performance since first revealing her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis and canceling her Courage World Tour.
