Kate Barton has been on the fast track to success since debuting her MA thesis collection at Savannah College of Art and Design. The designer received an award for innovation at the Mittelmoda competition at Milan Fashion Week, was selected for the CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase, and featured in publications including Vogue Italia and ELLE.
“From the moment I first got into fashion, my ultimate dream has always been to one day show at NYFW. It was surreal to be opening the show at NYFW with @flyingsolonyc. It was so much more special to be doing it in honor of of my friend Claire and raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. I feel grateful I got the opportunity to do this on a larger platform and give my garments a deeper meaning than just the clothes themselves. My advice to you all is to find what makes you excited and driven, and work hard at that. I didn’t realize I wanted to do fashion design until the very end of college, it’s never too late to discover and pursue what you’re passionate about.”
