She ties the ponytail high on the back of the head, giving it a youthful and playful touch. Celebrity hairstylist George Northwood is thrilled: “A little swing in the ponytail gives it more glamor and makes the look appear festive” and “is also great on the dance floor.”

In order for you to achieve the swinging ponytail with the “Swish” à la J.Lo, two things are important: the correct placement of the ponytail and the right styling products. That’s how it works:
- Gather the hair high at the back of your head with your hands.
- Loosen a few sections in the middle and ends before tying your hair back. This gives it bounce, texture and shine even without backcombing .
- For even more volume, you can spray dry shampoo into your hair and massage it in.
- Now rub some styling cream or leave-in conditioner onto your palms.
- Now pull your hair straight back from your face, making sure to take all the strands along the forehead with you, so the look looks particularly well-groomed.
- Run your creamed hands over the hairline again to further secure the hair.
