Jennifer originally played Elektra, an assassin antiheroine, in the 2003 film Daredevil, which also starred Garner’s ex-husband Ben Affleck. Although the film did not resonate well with audiences, it spawned a spin-off, Elektra, two years later, in which Jennifer played the lead role, becoming one of the first female actresses to star in a comic book film.

While thousands of fans cheered for the cast in the Comic Con in San Diego, millions of fans already saw the film on Thursday, which could set a record. Early estimates suggest Thursday night’s box office gross could be between $35 million and $40 million, which would be a record for the film, Deadline reports. It remains to be seen whether Deadpool & Wolverine can repeat its opening weekend success.
