Hermès was born on the 16th. June 2026 opened his new maison at 166 New Bond Street in London. With the new location, the British capital receives the world’s sixth Hermès Maison and thus ranks alongside the iconic houses in Paris, New York City, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. On almost 2,000 square meters, the French luxury house combines six historic buildings into a single, spacious shopping experience.
The new Maison Bond Street is already the fourth address of Hermès in London and sees itself as a tribute to British culture. “A tribute to British culture from a French house,” describes Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Artistic Director of Hermès, the concept.
The ensemble extends over five floors and includes a total of 55 individually designed rooms. The Parisian agency RDAI is responsible for the architecture, while the renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners under the direction of Norman Foster designed the central atrium with a new glass-steel construction and a striking spiral staircase.

Between history and modernity
Visitors enter the Maison through a seven-meter-high facade and first enter the world of the famous Hermès silk cloths. From there, the path leads to a light-flooded atrium that serves as the heart of the house. The interiors combine historical elements with contemporary design and invite you to discover the different universes of the brand.
More than 500 specially selected works of art shape the atmosphere of the house. Among the highlights is a horse sculpture created especially for the opening by British artist Jessica Wetherly, which recalls the close connection of Hermès to the equestrian world.

Sixteen worlds of craftsmanship under one roof
The Maison presents all 16 Métiers des Maison. On the various floors there are areas for leather goods, jewelry, watches, fashion, beauty, fragrances, home accessories as well as the equestrian collections. Exclusive special editions were also developed for the opening, including leather goods, shalls, jewelry, watches and creations of Ateliers Horizons.

Special attention is paid to the brand’s craftsmanship heritage. On the third floor, Hermès leather craftsmen work directly on site and demonstrate the philosophy of the house: to create products that can be repaired, passed on and used for generations.

A roof garden over London
The conclusion is the fourth floor, which is dedicated to the Émile-Hermès collection and commemorates the private collection in the historic headquarters at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The area is complemented by exclusive roof terraces and two interconnected roof gardens with views over London.

With the new Maison, Hermès is setting another sign of its long-term presence in the United Kingdom. The relationship between the traditional French house and London dates back to 1927, when Hermès products first entered the British market through merchant travelers. Today, Maison Bond Street is not just a boutique, but a place of encounter, creativity and cultural exchange.
